Answers to some of our most common questions

Community members with great quality spare uniforms for schools in the Central Coast of NSW post them in a free listing here

Parents or caregivers can check the listings on the website, and contact their school welfare staff, family support worker or local community centre to ask that they request the uniform.  

School welfare workers or family support workers can then  requests a listed school uniform, the listing is put on hold, and the two parties can privately message each other to arrange collection or a drop off point that suits them.  

Uniforms can only be requested by a school or Family Support Worker, on behalf of a family. This model mirrors We Care Connect’s other programs where support workers request assistance for the families they are helping.

You can donate quality pre-owned or brand-new school uniforms here by registering on the School Uniform Hub and placing a free listing. Please know that your uniform donation will be greatly appreciated by a someone in need.

Any school uniform item that your child no longer needs could be suitable to donate if it is in good condition. Here’s a list of items to consider.

Schools, case workers, family support workers and Neighbourhood/Community Centre workers who are registered with We Care Connect can source and request free uniforms on behalf of a family.

 

Parents and caregivers who are looking for a free uniform can check the listings on the School Uniform Hub without registering or signing-in. If you see a school uniform that your child needs , please contact your School Student Support Officer (SSO), Welfare Officer, School Uniform Shop, Neighbourhood Centre or Case Worker – they can put in a request on your behalfA full list of Neighbourhood Centres & Support Agencies is HERE  But you may have connections with another helping agency that is registered with We Care Connect – please ask them 

 

 

Yes, all the school uniforms listed in the School Uniform Hub are donated and completely free of charge. You cannot ask for payment if you list a uniform on the School Uniform Hub.  


No, there is no cost for using the School Uniform Hub.  Listed uniforms are a gift from the donor, and registration on the Hub is free. 

The School Uniform Hub is open to all families and community members in the Central Coast of NSW who wish to donate uniforms. Schools, case workers and other support workers can then source free school uniforms on behalf of a family in need. 


Parents and caregivers who need a free uniform can check the listings on the School Uniform Hub without registering or signing-in.   


We will notify you when a school or support worker requests your donation, and you will be able to contact them via the Uniform Hub’s private messaging system. 

Yes, as a registered School Staff Member, Case Worker or other reregistered support worker you first need to request the uniform. The uniform listing will be put on hold, and you can then contact the donor via the Uniform Hub’s private messaging area. 

Parents, caregivers or members of the public cannot request uniform items or contact a donor directlyPlease contact your School Student Support Officer (SSO), Welfare Officer, School Uniform Shop, Neighbourhood Centre or Case Worker – they can put in a request on your behalf.

The program is currently being piloted on the Central Coast, we hope to expand in the Hunter down the track.
